Multimodal Touchless Credentials — Face Recognition, 13.56 MHz Smartcards and QR Code Scan

January 29, 2021Touchless identification has become a trend and the future of access control in efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19 and other diseases. GeoVision’s new face recognition reader GV-FR Panel provides a touchless access control solution, meeting the emerging need to limit physical contact to keypads or fingerprint sensors.

GV-FR Panel displays vibrant images on an 8″ LCD touchscreen of 800 x 1280 HD  and analyzes faces in real time. When recognizing faces as registered or unknown, it grants or denies access.

When connected to GeoVision access control systems, GV-FR Panel, which includes a 13.56 MHz reader, can perform touchless identification and authentication in addition to face recognition. It can only allow access to high-security domains that require double authentication after both the paired access card and the presented face have been verified. It can also perform QR code-based identification by scanning QR codes issued by GV-ASManager’s Visitor Management System (GV-VMWeb).

Additionally, GV-FR Panel, which is equipped with an IR (Infrared) camera, detects changes in the environment and illuminates with LED, allowing it to recognize and authenticate faces in the dark.

Moreover, to improve the efficiency of managing and securing facilities, users can receive push notifications on GV-Face mobile app, with face images captured by GV-FR Panel.

Ideal for zone control in food processing factories, healthcare facilities where hygiene is important, construction sites where touch-based authentication is difficult to use, and other scenes requiring touchless door control and attendance checking, GV-FR Panel will bring you a new level of  convenience as well as improved security.
